A vertical view of the forest trees in a fine art style and muted colors.

Christina's Spirit Element - Earth

Face lifted up, I feel the warm sunshine on my head and body. I want to spread my arms out like an eagle getting ready to take flight. I want to absorb all the solar energy pulsing all around me.

The breeze - I feel the soft caress as it rifles through my hair. With it, travels the earthy scent of the forest, of the dark, rich soil, of the perfume of the plants surrounding me. With it, brings me the sounds, the music of the forest, of animals chattering away, of the plants and mushrooms growing beneath my feet and all around me, the buzzing of insects going about their day.

Wait. I think I am near a stream, a brook, a safe haven for salamanders and box turtles. I hear the trickling of water, gently flowing over rocks and small boulders. I feel the softness of the moss on the ground, the rough bark on the trees, the lichen growing symbiotically in its surroundings. I see. I hear. I touch. I smell. I feel. Dare I try something to taste to complete my five senses? Add to that, a sixth sense - proprioception.

When I close my eyes, my mind and my body continue on its exploration into the forest, the haven, the sanctuary. And I feel my soul.

My soul is soaring. I feel the immense happiness it experiences. It is nothing that I have ever felt before. It soars through the trees, gliding along with the small breeze still blowing, spreading out, releasing itself from its physical body, to truly experience what is nature, what is earth.
